About Us

Our mission is to unlock economic opportunities for the 80% of the world’s workforce who are frontline working adult learners, starting with the 130M+ adults in the U.S. who face language and literacy barriers to employment.

Vicki Greene

Chief Growth Officer

Former President & CEO of the GED Testing Service | SVP at Pearson

As CEO of the GED Testing Service, Vicki placed learners at the center of every decision. Vicki deeply understands that adult learners are often the forgotten learners, so her decision to join Pace AI was rooted in impact. She saw firsthand how Pace AI was accelerating learner progress and success in ways that exceeded anything she had previously experienced. The confidence gains, learning momentum, and measurable advancement she witnessed in GED learners were among the strongest learner outcomes she had ever seen. For Vicki, Pace AI represents the future of learners!

Victoria Pu

CEO and Co-founder

MIT PhD dropout | 2020 Harvard Rising Star in AI for Social Impact

Victoria’s parents have been living an incredible American Dream story as immigrants, but their early journey was rife with challenges. Despite holding degrees in electrical engineering, her father got his start washing dishes in the backroom of a restaurant — not because he lacked technical skills, but because he lacked the English language ability to land a job that paid living wages in his career field, all while continuing his education. For Victoria, building Pace is about leveraging her research science background in applied AI/ML to democratize access to economic opportunities for working adult learners everywhere!

My Tran

CPO and Co-founder

Product Leader | Four apps ranked on the Top-100 Grossing of the App Store and Google Play

My arrived in the U.S. with her parents from Vietnam. Vietnamese was her first language, and like many immigrant children, she was an ESL student who learned both Vietnamese and English to help bridge the language gap for her parents. Determined to build a better future for My in America, her parents worked two jobs each, sacrificing their education for her chance at success. Moved by her parents’ journey, she is committed to paying it forward by helping other families achieve economic success by acquiring the English and workplace skills they need to thrive.

We’re a team of product leaders, TEFL-certified English teachers, and AI/ML research scientists and engineers — with experience from top research labs across the country like Microsoft Research, Stanford, Cornell, MIT, and the Paul Allen Institute for AI Research.

We’re building Pace AI to accelerate multilingual and lower-literacy working adult learners onto career pathways, postsecondary education, and jobs that sustain their families.

Our learners are our inspiration and at the heart of everything we do, because we are those learners ourselves and the children of learners just like them.

That is why we built Pace — to fast track working adult learners onto career pathways and postsecondary education, with the only AI that actually gets them and is made for them. While “mainstream AI” tools focus on K-12 standards or assume college-level facility with English, our adult learners are some of the most resilient and talented, yet chronically underserved and overlooked learners anywhere. They are parents, caregivers, multilingual community members, aspiring GED and college graduates, internationally trained professionals, and everyone in between who doesn’t fit the mold of a “traditional learner.”

With AI that truly meets multilingual and lower-literacy adult learners where they are — at their English level and in 250+ languages (including lower-resource languages like Haitian Creole that aren’t well-supported by mainstream models) — we help learners build confidence and feel seen, sometimes for the very first time in their educational journeys.

So whether you’re an administrator, educator, technologist, or a learner yourself — welcome! We hope you’ll join us in accelerating working adult learners everywhere onto postsecondary education, workforce development training, and high-quality job opportunities that sustain their families. There is so much work to be done, and we couldn’t be more excited about our journey ahead.
